2.6. PARKING BRAKE
Mixer wagons come provided with a couple of chocks. They come in supports attached to the side of the
tub, completed with safety locks that hold the chocks when the mixer is moving.
Chocks must be returned always to their holders after use. Chocks are designed to be used when the
mixer has to be stopped or parked.
Figure 2.17 Chocks
Always park the mixer on flat ground, away from channels, furrows, slopes or the hard shoulder, where it
does
n’t obstruct the way. If it is necessary to park the mixer on an incline ground, because of an
emergency, place the chocks with their flat side down and with the curved side against the mixer's tyres.
They should be placed on the appropriate side of the tyres depending on the direction of the slope.
The mixer may come with a parking brake, instead of chocks. The parking brake comprises a lever (P) fitted
with a ratchet, that works the braking mechanism (F) via cable (S) located on the axle of the mixer. The
parking brake lever (P) is situated at the side of the mixer under the ladder.
To work the parking brake pull on the lever (P) until it can be pulled no more, blocking will take place
automatically.
To let off the parking brake work the unblocking pin (D) and push the lever (P) until it can go no further.
Make sure that the lever is pulled as tight as possible.
