3.3. DISTRIBUTION
For the distribution of the chopped straw the side chute is used, which is
located on the right side of the straw chopper.
Optionally a rotating chute may be installed on the left side of the
chopper instead of the side chute, or both may be installed, one on each
side.
The distribution chute/s work as follows:
Both types of chute remain in the folded up rest position while they are
not in action. When distribution is activated, the chopper chute/s is/are
placed in the unloading position.
Once chopped, the straw is sent to the distribution system by the action
of a blower turbine with blades, located at the bottom of the box, behind the
cutting turbine.
The straw is ejected horizontally through the side chute at a distance
that can reach up to 18 meters.
The rotating chute does not allow such a broad scope, however it
ensures the distribution of chopped straw to places difficult to reach.
Speeds
So that distribution is homogeneous and uniform, it is important to work
with the appropriate speeds. Speeds are selected based on the quality and
condition of the product to be chopped as this influences how far the
product can be distributed. The wrong speed can cause discontinued
distribution.
Both the forward speed of the belt and the rotary speed of the turbine
can be adjusted
This adjustment can be performed manually or electronically by the
hydraulic distributor with the control box.
Where there is a distributor, the speed of the moving belt can be
adjusted with a potentiometer (R) located in the distributor. This control
enables the straw/silage feeding to be controlled, so that it does not get
jammed.
