STRAW CHOPPER
Page 21
Loading the chopper can be done by a fork lift, placing the bale of straw
(both round and rectangular) over the open lift gate, or by moving the
chopper backwards, using the hinged tailgate of the box as a shovel.
The distribution of chopped straw is produced through a side discharge
nozzle, which can be supplied with a rotary option.
TATOMA designed straw choppers are simply built and made with
highly resistant steels. The machine components experience minimal wear
and require little maintenance.
The following figures show the main components of the straw chopper
types previously described, depending on model
THE "E" MODEL IS FOR CATTLE
After chopping, a blower turbine located at the bottom of the box,
behind the turbine, enables delivery through the discharge nozzle.
With this system a homogenous mix can be obtained in a few minutes.
MODEL "D" IS FOR POULTRY
Between the turbine cutting and the hammering system is a grid
(screen) that does not allow straw to pass through which is larger than that
expected, thus ensuring fine chopping.
Optionally a chopping roller can be placed in front of the turbine
section, which would allow even greater chopping, if necessary (Model D /
M, system rarely used).
The distribution through the discharge nozzle is produced by a blower
turbine installed in the bottom of the box, behind the cutting turbine and the
screen (see Figure 1.4).
Figure 1.1: Chopping turbine for cattle
On the "E" straw chopper
model the cutting turbine is
specially
designed
for
chopping straw for cattle (see
Figure 1.1).
The chopping system is
formed by a turbine equipped
with interchangeable cutting
blades.
The model "D" straw chopper
is specially designed for superior
chopping use at poultry facilities.
A cutting turbine equipped with
interchangeable cutting blades
(see
figure
1.4)
chops
beforehand, to facilitate entry to a
system of subsequent hammering
that enables better chopping
(see Figure 1.3).
