STRAW CHOPPER
Page 38
The steps to follow for the use of the cutter are the following:
16.
Open the tailgate to the loading position (touching the ground) using the
controls located on the front of the chopper.
Before lowering the loading tailgate to check that there is
no person in range, behind the chopper.
2.
Stop the tractor PTO, thereby stopping the rotation of the chopping
system.
3.
Move the loading tailgate backwards by reversing the chopper. Lean
the bale to be loaded against a wall, to facilitate loading by this method
The chopper should be handled by only one person, who
will coordinate the actions of others or machines should
their intervention be required.
The driver of the tractor must avoid at all times the presence
of unauthorized persons in the vicinity of the working area
of the chopper.
4.
Once loaded, start to fold up the tailgate, so that the loaded bale is
deposited in the inside of the box.
It is likely that the tailgate cannot be completely closed
because of the placing of the load. Do not force the tailgate
closed, as pressure on the chopping system can cause
significant damage to the machine.
5.
Run
the
tractor PTO so that the chopping system conducts a few
revolutions while the moving bottom begins to transport the product
placed on it.
During loading operations the chopping system will only
operate when the tailgate is closed.
Cleaning the tailgate should be done with the tractor and
chopper stopped. The person performing the cleaning will
keep the keys to the tractor in their power until the end of
the operation.
6.
Once loading is complete, close the tailgate as far as possible, without
pushing the bale onto the chopping system.
The Fold-down tailgate must be completely closed as soon
as the bale of straw is not a threat to the proper functioning
of chopping system, as the rotation of the latter tends to
push the load outwards.
