7.6 Assembling the base boom section

1. Install the slide plates to the lower surface at the

front end of the base boom section.

2. Install the slide plates to the side surfaces at the

front end of the base boom section. Adjust the
clearances to the following by increasing or
decreasing the number of shims.
- 0.5 mm (1/64 in) or less in total when the values
at right and left are added

3. Insert the 2nd boom section into the base boom

section to the point about 200 mm (8 in) before full
retraction.

4. Apply molybdenum disulfide grease to the

adjusting screw at the front end of the adjuster
assy.

[NOTICE]

Be sure to remove the nuts at the front end of the

adjuster assy and apply molybdenum disulfide
grease to the whole area of the adjusting screw.

5. Fix the adjuster assy to the front end of the base

boom section.

[NOTICE]

The dimension Lb that was measured during

disassembly can be used as the reference target
when screwing nuts.

Before screwing the nuts, loosen the adjusting bolts

about one turn. After fixing the adjuster assy,
tighten the adjusting bolts as before.

6. Fully retract the 2nd boom section.

7. Install the slide plates to the side surfaces at the
