NSTRUMENTS

TMA 2940 CE

When choosing a probe to use for an experiment,

follow these steps:

1. Select the appropriate probe for the analysis

desired.

2. Check the instrument to see which probe is

currently installed. If you change the probe

currently on the TMA, turn to:

Chapter 2 to install the expansion and

penetration probes

Chapter 4 to install any optional probes.

3. Select the mode that is appropriate for the

type of probe installed. Refer the the

instrument control software documentation

for information.

4. Calibrate a newly installed probe as de-

scribed on page 3-5, or zero an already

installed probe as described in the next

section.

Zeroing the Auto
Measure System

This procedure is used to initialize the auto-length

measure system. It should be performed periodi-

cally to ensure accurate sample length measure-

ments. To zero the TMA auto measure system,

simply press the

ZERO LENGTH

key on the

keypad.
