Dilatometer Accessory

Description

The dilatometer accessory kit can be used to

determine the volume coefficient of expansion.

The cubic expansion of a sample is calculated

using the following equation:

where:

= coefficient of expansion

= vial constant (cm

/µm)

= slope (

= sample volume (cm

). This

volume may be obtained by

dividing the sample mass in

grams by its density in g/cm

room temperature.
