Preparing
Sheet Materials
To prepare sheet materials for use with the
parallel plate rheometer accessory, follow these
instructions:
1. Cut a sample from a sheet of material 0.25
to 1.00 mm in thickness using a standard 9.5-
mm hole punch.
2. Measure the sample thickness, using cali-
pers, to 0.02 mm.
3. Place the sample between two parallel plates
in the alignment cage, as shown in Figure
4.14 on page 4-37.
4. Load your sample according to the directions
in the next section.
