Connecting Cables
and Gas Lines

In order to connect the cables and gas lines, you

will need to have access to the instruments rear

panel.*

* All directional descriptions for this section

are written on the assumption that you are
facing the back of the instrument.

Connect all cables before connecting the power
cords to outlets. Tighten the thumbscrews on
all computer cables.

When plugging or unplugging power cords,
always handle them by the plugs, not by the
cords.

Protect power and communications cable
paths. Do not create tripping hazards by
laying them across accessways.

GPIB Cable

1. Locate the GPIB connector on the right rear

of the instrument (see the figure on the next

page).

2. Connect the GPIB cable to the GPIB

connector. The GPIB cable is the only cable

that fits into this connector.

3. Tighten the hold-down screws on the

connector.

4. Connect the other end of the GPIB cable to

the controller or to the GPIB cable of

another TA Instruments instrument con-

nected to the controller.
