Sun StorEdge 3000 Family Installation, Operation, and Service Manual • March 2004

5. Select the desired logical drive (LD) and press Return.

The partition table is displayed.

6. Select the desired partition and press Return.

7. Select the mapping option that is appropriate for your network and proceed with

one of the following procedures.

■

“Map Host LUN” is used when multiple hosts are

not

on the same loop. To use

this option, see

“Using the Map Host LUN Option” on page 5-50

■

“Create Host Filter Entry” is used when multiple hosts share the same loop,
can view all the drives, and need to be filtered so that a host sees only the
logical drives that are exclusive to its use. To use this option, see

“Setting Up

Host Filter Entries” on page 5-52

.

5.6.3

Using the Map Host LUN Option

Each partition must be mapped to a host LUN. The “Map Host LUN” menu option
is used when multiple hosts are not on the same loop.

If multiple hosts will share the same loop on the array, use the host filter command
and see
