Chapter 6: Setting Up Inputs and Outputs
Step Two: Configure the Analyzer
Once the terminal block is wired, wire the next input/output or close the Analyzer door, turn on the
Analyzer, and proceed as follows:
1. Press
SETUP
from the
Main Menu
to access the
SETUP
menu.
2. Using the
UP
and
DOWN
arrow keys, highlight
INPUT/OUTPUT
and press
ENTER
.
3. In the I
NPUT/OUTPUT
menu, highlight
BINARY INPUTS
and press
ENTER
.
4. Select the
BINARY INPUT
to be configured by pressing the
NEXT
key to advance through the five
binary inputs until the current setting of the one to be edited is displayed.
5. Press
EDIT
to edit the status of the binary input.
• The status is highlighted to show that it can be edited.
6. Use the
UP
and
DOWN
arrow keys to change the status.
• The choices of configuration selections are listed in Table 10 above.
7. Use the
UP
and
DOWN
arrow keys to select between
DISABLED, STATE
and the various
STREAM-X
choices. To enable the
STATE
or the
STREAM-X
choices, press
NEXT
to highlight the
polarity choices.
8. Use the arrow keys to toggle between Polarity
OPEN
and Polarity
CLOSED
.
9. Press
NEXT
to accept the new configuration.
10. Press
EXIT
twice to return to the top level.
Display Contrast
The
DISPLAY CONTRST
option allows you to set the contrast of the display screen. To set the display
contrast:
1. Highlight
DISPLAY CONTRST
from the
INPUT/OUTPUT
menu and press
ENTER
.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to set the contrast.
Note:
Configuring the binary inputs depends on the wiring scheme. A qualified
electrician should wire the binary inputs and provide information about the wiring
setup. It is critical that the binary input setup matches the wiring setup.
Note:
Pressing
EXIT
instead of
NEXT
will exit the Binary Input Editing menu without
saving any changes to the binary input status.
Note:
It is critical that once the terminal block is wired, proper communications are
established with the Analyzer over the binary inputs to confirm correct
installation and setup.
