Chapter 6: Setting Up Inputs and Outputs
digital to analog setting associated with the 20 mA signal is highlighted to show that it can be edited. Using
the arrow keys, enter the boron level that will correspond to the 20 mA output, and press
NEXT to save the
digital-to-analog settings and return to the previous menu.
To set the analog output to LOW OUTPUT , scroll to LOW OUPUT and press NEXT . This setting will make
the selected analog output yield a constant 4 mA signal. When the analog output setting for each analog
output has been set, press
EXIT four times to return to the Main Menu .
To set the level for the analog outputs when the system is in standby mode, highlight ANALOG STANDBY
LEVEL and press ENTER . Using the arrow keys, select the desired analog level; options are 0 mA , 2 mA
and 4 mA .
Alarm Output
The alarm output is a signal that is sent from the Analyzer when predetermined conditions are met within
the Analyzer. There are ten choices available for an alarm output:
• OFF
• BORON STREAM X
• STATE
• RES ERROR ANY STREAM
• ERROR
• RES ERROR STREAM X
• READY STREAM X
• RES WARN ANY STREAM
• BORON ANY STREAM
• RES WARN STREAM X
Use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to scroll through the ten settings. The OFF setting disables the alarm
output and is the default setting for both of the alarm outputs. The STATE setting will send an alarm signal
when the Analyzer is stopped (either by normal means or a fatal error). The ERROR setting enables the
alarm output to send an alarm signal when an error condition occurs on the Analyzer. The BORON ANY
STREAM and BORON STREAM X settings enable the alarm output to send an alarm signal when a preset
threshold is met. The RES ERROR and RES WARN settings enable the alarm output to signal an alarm
when the Resistivity is low enough to trigger an error or warning. The READY STREAM X enables the
alarm output to signal an alarm when a boron measurement has completed on the specified stream.
Note:
Pressing
EXIT
instead of
NEXT
will exit the analog output editing menu without
saving any changes to the 4 mA and 20 mA values.
