Zero Measurement
During a zero measurement, the UPW sample is diverted through the zero column to remove any boron
before it is sent to the injection valve. The zero is measured as the conductivity peak when an injection of
reagent is made into a UPW sample that is free of boron.
Sample Measurement
During a sample measurement, the UPW sample is sent directly to the injection valve. The sample is
measured as the conductivity peak when an injection of reagent is made into a UPW sample containing
boron. The boron concentration is proportional to the difference between the sample and zero conductivity
peaks.
The number of sample measurements selected applies to all streams. After the designated number of
samples has been analyzed, the Analyzer advances to the next available stream, zeros itself, and begins
analysis.
