Connecting a Rain Sensor
You can connect a rain sensor (pulse or switch) to the Ranger 4000 S via the
grey terminals labeled "Rain":
The Ranger 4000 S can accept input from an external rain sensor or a
tipping rain bucket, and react in three ways:
• Simply stop irrigating if it rains at all (works with sensors and tipping
rain bucket.)
• Stop irrigating if the rain level exceeds a certain threshold (works
with sensors and tipping rain bucket.)
• Adjust irrigation based on the amount of rain (only works with a
ripping rain bucket.)

Important! Be aware of the polarity when you connect devices
to the Ranger 4000 S: Connect plus to plus and minus to minus
or you won't see the expected behavior from the connected
devices.
