Converting the NTF files
As a Lotus Notes administrator, you can select specific names or departments to gradually
update your company’s mail database with the Reserver for Lotus Notes template. Use
the load convert command to substitute the standard Lotus Notes NTF file on the Domino
server with the Reserver for Lotus Notes NTF (ConfRsrvMail50.ntf or ConfRsrvMail60.ntf).
Note:
ConfRsrvMail50.ntf applies to the Lotus Notes 5.0 release. ConfRsrvMail60.ntf
applies to Lotus Note 6.0.1, 6.1.65.
Follow these steps:
1.
To save time, upgrade one section of the company mail list at a time or create a text
file of the mail files you want to convert.
Tip:
Be prepared to wait several minutes or more depending on the database size.
2.
If you want to create a text file, enter this command in the server command window:
load convert -F c:\temp\maillist.txt
When you run this command, you create a text file, maillist.txt, located in the server’s
C:\temp folder. The text file might look similar to the following:
mail\bbrooks
mail\jsmith
mail\wfish
Note:
The entries do not require file extensions.
3.
Open the maillist.txt using any text editor.
4.
Press
ENTER
at the end of the maillist.txt file if you are adding a new name or ID.
