6. Display Screens – Operation, Directory,
Programming, Editing And Options
The Different Screen Environments
1) Operation Screen
As stated from Section 5 (Operation Of The Atlas™ Auto 40T Press),
when the Atlas™ Auto 40T press is switched on at the mains, power to
the press will also be indicated by illumination of the Electronic Display
(
4 ). From start up the display will show its software version number
and then default to the main Operation Screen.
The Operation Screen is the Display Screen that is shown whenever
the Atlas™ Auto 40T press is running any pressing operation or pre-
selected program. From initial powering up, the Simple Operation
Program PZ will be loaded to be used with the press.
Note: This Simple Operation Program PZ can be used as a Quickstart
Guide for operation of the Atlas™ Auto 40T press.
The Simple Operation Program PZ enables the user to select a set
tonnage load for the press to apply and then apply this load by
pressing the start button. The press will maintain the load with an auto
“top up” function until the release button is pressed.
From the Operation Screen you can gain access to the other Display
Screens by scrolling through the Menu Bar, via use of the left (
14 ) or
right ( 15 ) buttons, to the appropriate symbol, (e.g. PGM for Program
Screen) and then pressing the accept (tick) button ( 16 ). ( See Screen
Map – page 30 ). When you have entered a particular Display Screen
environment you can carry out the functions allowed within that
environment, such as programming for a load/hold/release sequence
or editing a particular saved program. Once the functions have been
established, you return to the main Operation Screen via selection of
the EXIT symbol and pressing the accept (tick) button (
