3-5-9 Deleting and Renaming an Alias (DELETE ALIAS/RENAME ALIAS)
In Dual Play mode, you can delete an alias or change its name. It is also
possible to delete or change the name of an alias that is not loaded in Dual
Play mode.
Note
Performing the 099: ALL ERASE item on the MAV-777 Basic menu, deletes
all aliases.
To delete an alias
To delete an alias, use the following procedure.

In the alias list, move the cursor to the alias that you want to delete.

Hold down the SHIFT key and press B6 (Delete Alias).
A dialog box appears to ask you to confirm the deletion. To cancel the
deletion, press B6 (Cancel).

To confirm the deletion, hold down the SHIFT key and press B7 (OK).
Note
If the selected alias is opened in Dual Play mode, it cannot be deleted. In this
case, first unload the alias, then repeat the delete operation.

Alias (LOAD ALIAS/UNLOAD ALIAS)” (page 3-31).
To rename an alias
To rename an alias, use the following procedure.

In the alias list, move the cursor to the alias that you want to rename.

Hold down the SHIFT key and press B5 (Rename Alias).
A text input dialog box appears to allow you to enter a name.

Enter the new name of the alias.
For details on how to input text in the dialog box, see Section 3-7-2, “Text Entry
Dialog Box” (page 3-44).

To apply the new name, press B7 (OK).
To cancel the renaming, press B6 (Cancel).
Notes
• It is not possible to rename an alias to the name of an existing alias.
• Alias names can be up to twenty-three characters long.
• The slash “/”, percent “%”, underscore “_”, and dollar sign “$” are reserved
by the system. When renaming an alias, never use “/” and do not use “%”,
“_”, or “$” as the first character.
