Holding down the DMC EDIT button, turn the search dial to set the initial
speed of the IN point.
For the current status item in the current display area, “DMC INITIAL
SPEED ±x.xx” is displayed (x.xx is the variable playback speed).

Release the DMC EDIT button to select the initial playback speed. The
DMC EDIT light goes on.
If a player OUT point has been selected, the OUT point in effect when the
DMC EDIT button was off is deleted.
• Setting the initial speed of the player IN point for an allowed variable
playback speed sets the DMC Edit mode.
• When the DMC EDIT button is lit, pressing the DMC EDIT button
allows you to confirm the initial speed selected for the IN point.

As the PREVIEW button is blinking, execute PREVIEW.

During the PREVIEW turn the search dial to vary the playback speed
between the IN and OUT points.
During DMC playback between the IN and OUT points, the MEMORY
lamp flashes. As soon as the OUT point is passed during DMC playback,
the MEMORY lamp lights and remains on.

After PREVIEW the PREVIEW and AUTO EDIT buttons flash, you can
execute AUTO EDIT. If you press the PREVIEW button in this state, you
can repeat this procedure from step 7. However, pressing the PREVIEW
button again clears the information specified at step 7.

Press AUTO EDIT to execute DMC editing in steps 7 to 8.
To cancel DMC Edit, hold down the DMC EDIT button and press the
DELETE button. The DMC EDIT button light goes off.
Notes
• When an external device is specified as the player, the initial speed changed
to more than 1.00x normal speed, and the player changed to the internal port,
the speed is automatically reset to 1.00x normal speed. Subsequently, if an
external device is again specified as the player, the speed remains 1.00x
normal speed.
• The player and recorder IN points must be set so that the preroll interval (at
least 3 seconds) can be set on the MAV-777 Basic menu item 001 Preroll
Time.
• When menu item 2005: 1st Edit Option in CP Setup mode is set to None
because there is no destination material the first time you edit, after 1st Edit,
you cannot perform DMC editing.
• The recorder IN point must be set within one frame of the end of the
destination material. In other words, the player and recorder IN points must
be set parallel in the “Beginning of the Material, Preroll Time Only After the
Following Points” to “Material End +1 Frame” interval.
