2-4-5. Check after Adjustment
1 . Tracking check
1 ) Play back the tracking alignment tape and turn the track
shift knob of the track shift and monitor jig so that the RF
waveform amplitude is maximized ( See Fig. 2-64).
2 ) Confirm that the minimum value of the amplitude
(EMIN ) exceeds 7 5% of the maximum value (EMAX )
(See Fig. 2 -6 5 ) .
3 ) Confirm that t h e waveform has no variations (See
Fig. 2-66).

2. Checking rising edge
1) Play back the tracking alignment tape.
2) Turn the track shift knob of the track shift and monitor jig
so t hat the RF waveform amplitude is maximized.
3) Instantaneously short-circuit the M D- 1 0 board REC
SW contact spring to GND, and light the standby LED
so that the standby mode is attained ( See Fig. 2-5 0).
4 ) Turn EJECT switch on to eject so that t hreading is
repeated again.
5 ) Set t o playback mode and confirm t hat the R F wave­
form rises horizontally. Confirm t hat there are no
wrinkles in the tape in the vicinity of the pin roller
( See Fig. 2-6 7 ).
6 ) Light the standby L E D so that the standby mode is
attained, and repeatedly confirm 1 ).
No wrinkles here.

3. Tape running check
Set to playback m ode and confirm that t he tape is neither
lifted up nor curled severely at the lower flange of guide
No.2, upper flange of guide No.3 and upper flange of guide
No.6, and not curled at the upper and lower flanges of
guide No. 7 ( See Fig. 2-68).
