Solenoid/Motor Check
It is possible to check the solenoid and motor in accordance
with the setting of the TEST-2 switch S5.

Mode Off
Set the switch to this position when not performing the
test.

Pinch Roller Pressure
In the case ""1", the drum, capstan and Sand
reel motors will rotate, however for this test mode,
the capstan motor will rotate, and the pinch roller will be
pressed against the capstan.

TEST-l "B"
TEST-l "C,,: Tape Speed Check
This test permits the following checks to establish whether or
not the tape
of in the
mode is the same as that in the RECORD mode.
Step 1.
Thread the alignment tape. Set the TEST-l switch to "B"
and press the ENTRY switch. (The capstan phase lock
will go open, and the capstan will be the same
as that in the RECORD mode.)
Step 2.
Place the machine in the PLAY mode, and memorize the
NDI display on the SV-43 board.

Set the TEST-l switch to "C", and press the ENTRY
switch. (The capstan is driven only by the analog velocity
loop consisting
of hardware.)
Step 4.
Place the machine in the PLAY mode, and check to see if
value on the NO I is the same as value
memorized in step 2. If it is not adjust
0
RVI on the CD-
17 board in the TEST-l "C" mode.
Drum Check
In this test the drum speed can be checked by the NDI
display on the SV-43 board as follows.
Set the TEST-I switch to
"0",
press the ENTRY switch, and
place the machine in the STANDBY ON mode. (The drum
driven the of
hardware.) the NDI display on the SV-43 board shows
"02", "01", "00", ~~FF", "FE" or "FD", the drum speed is
within the specifications.
If the display is different to the above, adjust
0
RV4 on the
CD-17 board.
TEST-l "E": Real Time Display of Status
This test enables the servo status flag, and so on, of the servo
ooeraunz
in the normal mode to be in real time,
on NOlan the SV-43 board for the TEST-2 switch or
on the
8
LEOs display on the RL-12 board for the TEST-3
switch setting. For details, refer to the item on the TEST-2
switch and the TEST-3 switch.
