6.5.3 Replacing the ilter
Remove the ilter element (
3
) by wiggling
downward.
Remove residual oil from the ilter body (
2
).
Clean the ilter body (
2
) with compatible
cleaner.
Insert new ilter element (
3
).
Check O-ring in ilter body, replace if
necessary.
Lightly wetten O-ring with grease or oil.
Place ilter body (
2
) onto ilter housing (
4
)
and screw it into the ilter housing until
the stop with an open-end wrench. Then
unscrew the ilter body by 1/8 to 1/2 a
revolution.
- see Figure 15
The change-over lever (
1
) on the ilter unit
controls the lubricating oil through ilter body
1 or ilter body 2 (enabled or disabled ilters).
The change-over lever (1) always indicates
the direction of the ilter body (2) that is
currently disabled.
Changeover of ilter body 1 or ilter body 2 is
performed by raising and turning the change-
over lever
(
1) by 120° .
Lifting the change-over lever
(
1)
with-
out turning
causes pressure equalization
between both ilter bodies. To ensure opti-
mum pressure equalization, the change-over
procedure should be performed slowly (slow
raising).
Place the oil drip pan under the ilter unit
of the oil supply unit.
Slowly raise the change-over lever (
1
)
and turn it 120° until it snaps, then
lower the change-over lever (
1
).
The grip of the change-over lever (
1
) is
now above the ilter body in which the
ilter element (
3
) will be changed.
Warning!
Oil can discharge while performing the
following steps.
Unscrew the vent plug (
5
or
6
) on the now-
disabled side of the ilter by 2 to 3 revolu-
tions.
Place an open-end wrench (WAF 30) on
the hexagon screw of the ilter body (
2
).
Carefully loosen and remove the ilter
body (
2
) from the ilter housing (
4
).
