The oil supply unit consists of two electrically
driven gear pumps. One of these serves as
a feed pump and the other one serves as a
standby pump. If a gear pump fails after using
the oil supply unit for many years, then the
pump can be replaced during operation.
Proceed as follows:
Place an oil pan under the gear pump
being replaced.
Switch the manual oil change-over valve
(

), see Chapter 6.7.2.
On the
gear pump
being replaced:
Disconnect the cable (

) on the pump
motor.
Set up assembly device (block and tackle)
above the pump unit being replaced.
Loosen the front fastening screws (

)
(DIN912-M6/4x, WAF5) of the gear pump
unit.
Check valves are located within the control
block (

). This prevents the supplied lubri-
cating oil from lowing back and leaking
out of the control block bore that has been
loosened.
Slightly raise the gear pump so that pres-
sure on the fastening screws is released.
Loosen and remove the fastening screws
(

or

).
Carefully remove the gear pump from the
oil supply unit without jamming or knocking.
Replace O-rings on the control block (

) and
the feed lange (

).

parts."
6.5.4 Replacing a gear pump
Note!
The disassembly aids and/or disas-
sembly material must be designed for
the maximum total weight of the gear
pump being replaced.
Danger! - Suspended load
Do not walk under the detached or
suspended gear pump.
Follow the safety instructions in Chap-
ter 1 of the assembly instructions.
Attach a mounting rope (or chain) on the
mounting eyelet (

) of the pump motor.
The gear pump being disassembled must
also be secured against dropping verti-
cally (after removal of the fastening screws)
using mounting ropes.
Secure the gear pump against vertical drop
using additional mounting ropes.
Loosen and remove the rear fastening
screws (

the feed lange (
