6. Insert new Pinch-Tube Inserts. If one is difficult to install, a piece of small gauge wire (e.g. paper clip) may be used as a guide. Move the wire upward
through the bottom of the base, place the Pinch-Tube over it and ease the Pinch-Tube Insert into the base from the top.
7. When all Pinch-Tube Inserts have been replaced, turn the block over and inspect the extension of the Pinch-Tubes from the SiliCycle MiniBlock base.
All Pinch-Tubes should project 3 to 5 mm from the base; replace any valve inserts with short Pinch-Tubes.
8. Reinstall the valve insert lock-plate by shifting the plate sideways into the narrow part of the keys & securing the four (4) retaining screws.
1. Remove all Pinch-Tube Inserts.
2. Remove the eight (8) sets of hex screws at each end of the SiliCycle MiniBlock base (Figure 43) using the T-handle Valve Key.

3. The eight (8) Compression Cords can be replaced, by sequentially pushing each used cord out of one end using a new Compression Cord from the
other end. If the Compression Cords are slightly bowed, the middle of the arc should be aligned toward the front of the SiliCycle MiniBlock.
4. Replace the eight (8) hex screws at either end of the SiliCycle MiniBlock base.
5. Install new Pinch-Tube Inserts.

TECH TIP
:
The 3 to 5 mm Pinch-Tube extension is essential to prevent reaction product
cross-contamination (
see Figure 39 for a depiction of proper Pinch-Tube
extension into collection tubes
).
