SiliCycle MiniBlock reaction agitation is typically accomplished using orbital mixing on a Shaking Station.
Use only Shaking Stations supplied by SiliCycle for SiliCycle MiniBlock applications. These units are customized in design
and construction to provide:
• Durable performance while accommodating the weight of the SiliCycle MiniBlock reactor systems
• Vigorous agitation using a restricted orbit
• Clamp-down sites for SiliCycle MiniBlocks
• A manifold site to facilitate circulation of heat transfer fluid to individual SiliCycle MiniBlocks
• Vacuum assisted drainage to waste for washing
• Balance for reduced noise and vibration
The SiliCycle Shaking Stations holds up 1 or 2 SiliCycle MiniBlocks (Figure 26).
Position SiliCycle MiniBlocks by locating them on shaker alignment pins (Figure 27). To secure the SiliCycle MiniBlocks, turn the hex screws in the
shaker top clamps clockwise (Figure 28) using the supplied T-handle Valve Key. Tighten the clamps down on to the notches on each side
of the reactor.
To ensure efficient Shaker operation and maximum shaker durability, weight should be distributed symmetrically across to the top of the Shaking
Station. For the 2 positions shaker, counterweights (13742012) should be utilized to balance the top load prior to operation.
