SiliCycle MiniBlock® User Guide

Solid-phase resin support is added to SiliCycle MiniBlock Reaction Tubes prior to closing down the SiliCycle MiniBlock top.
In simple practice, measured quantities of resin are sequentially transferred to individual tubes.

The Resin Dispenser, capable of accurately dispensing various resin quantities is available (13822001). The SiliCycle MiniBlock Resin Dispenser is

designed to evenly dispense resin to 48 Reaction Tube positions simultaneously. (See section Appendix B: Resin Dispenser: Operating Instructions for

details of Resin Dispenser Operation.)

SiliCycle MiniBlocks can be used to cleave reaction products from resins contained in IRORI Kans.
The SiliCycle MiniBlock is designed to accommodate IRORI Microkans, MiniKans (4 mL Reaction Tubes) and MacroKans (10 mL Reaction Tubes).
The Kans can be scanned in manually and placed into Reaction Tubes. For unattended operation, the IRORI AutoSort™ 10KX can be used to

automate Kan scanning and sorting into SiliCycle MiniBlocks.

Resin conditioning and swelling prior to synthesis can be readily accomplished in a SiliCycle MiniBlock. See section 5 Washing, Purification and

Product Collection for information regarding washing operations on the SiliCycle MiniBlock.

For oxygen or moisture sensitive reactions, the Inert Atmosphere Manifold should be used to purge out all Reaction Tubes. Open the bottom

SiliCycle MiniBlock valve and purge for a suitable time to assure an inert reaction environment. Close the bottom valve before proceeding.
Alternatively, argon can be used to displace air in the Reaction Tubes. The Inert Atmosphere Manifold with positive argon flow is placed loosely over

the Reaction Tubes (without clamping) for a suitable period. The side spring clamps are then secured down simultaneously on the Inert Atmosphere

Manifold and argon pressure is adjusted (using the bubbler) to assure positive pressure.
