The AS620 T automation system is used for the closed-loop control of gas and
steam turbines as well as for the voltage control of generators. Closed-loop
control functions for the turbine generator set include:

The AS620 T comprises the automation processor system APT, using SIMADYN
components, and an associated AP as a head station. Both components are
coupled to the plant bus via their respective communications processors. The
high-speed controllers for the turbine generator set are implemented in the APT
using a STRUC G work-station. Communication with the other components of
TXP takes place via the head station. In addition to high-speed control, other I&C
tasks for the turbine generator set can also be performed in the AP.
