3. Select the "Settings..." command from the shortcut menu.
The "Communication Settings" dialog opens.
4. In the "Select Network Adapters" group, select the communication module via which you
want to communicate on the terminal bus.
5. Click "OK".
Note
If you confirm the dialog box that follows, the network connection to this PC station will be
temporarily interrupted.
6. Confirm the dialog box that follows.
The network adapter is reinitialized.
Configure connection sequence for several network adapters
1. Open the advanced settings in the "Network Connections" dialog.
2. Select the "Adapters and Bindings" tab.
3. Check that the connection via which the PC station on the terminal bus is to communicate
is at the top of the "Connections" list. If necessary, move this connection to the top.
Note
If redundant network adapters are used, the shared TEAM connection must be at the top
of the list. You can find additional information on this in the manual

Note
Once new network adapters have been installed, the most recently entered connection
appears at the top of the list.
Ensure that the connection via which the PC station on the terminal bus communicates is
at the top of the list.
4. Click "OK".
Specifying the network type
1. Use the search box in the start menu to open the file "gpedit.msc".
The "Local Group Policy Editor" dialog box opens.
2. In the tree view, select the folder Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration >
Windows Settings > Security Settings > Network List Manager Policies
3. Double-click the "Unidentified Networks" object in the detail window.
The "Properties of unidentified networks" dialog box opens.
4. In the "Location Type" area, select the "Private" option button.
