Installation 

9711QOR-86  C & Ku-Band TXRX

WARNING:

  RF Radiation Hazard  -  This stabilized antenna system is designed to be used with 

transmit/receive equipment manufactured by others.  Refer to the documentation supplied by 

the manufacturer which will describe potential hazards, including exposure to RF radiation, 

associated with the improper use of the transmit/receive equipment.  Note that the 
transmit/receive equipment will operate independently of the stabilized antenna system.   

The ultimate responsibility for safety rests with the facility operator and the 

individuals who work on the system.

power to the 

transmit/receive

 equipment must be locked out and tagged.  

Turning OFF 

power to the Antenna Control Unit does NOT turn Transmit power output OFF. 

The ultimate responsibility for safety rests with the facility operator and the 

individuals who work on the system. 

 

WARNING:

  RF Radiation Hazard  -  When the transmit/receive system is in operation, no one 

should be allowed anywhere within the radiated beam being emitted from the reflector.

3.2.

 

Preparation 

It is recommended that you do not unpack the crates until you are ready to sub-assemble and install the equipment.  
Assure that you have a large, flat, level, open area to sub-assembly the baseframe, pedestal, dish/feed and the upper & 

lower sections of the radome.  This area should be clean and free of debris (refer to the Installation chapters of 

Antenna and Antenna Control Unit manuals).   
We recommend that you place the crates in the area that you have chosen to assembly each of these major 

components.

Opening your crates   

 

 

CAUTION:

  To prevent items from being lost or misplaced, do not unpack this 

crate until you are ready to assemble and install the equipment.   

 

3.3.1.

 

Location of Items inside the Crates  

The new Packaging Strategy for 9711 systems has reduced the number of crates from 5 or 4 to only 3 crates.   
If an Air conditioning unit is required it will be shipped on the Pedestal crate rather than as a separate box.  

With this new strategy, all the items that are needed for assembly and installation of a major component are 

now located together in the major components crate.   
New packing lists for the crates make it easier to locate and unpack the items that are needed to assemble 

and install the Antenna System.  Crate design make it easier to unpack the items from each crate.  All bolts, 
mounting the equipment in the crate can be removed from the top side.  

There is no longer any need to 

reach under the pallet to hold nuts while the bolts are being removed!,

   

3.3.2.

 

Base Frame and Reflector Crate   

We recommend that you place the Base Frame and Reflector Crate in the area that you have chosen to 

assembly each of these major components.
