2. DETAILED RULES OF MAINTENANCE
2.1 Detailed Rules of Using Oil, Fuel and Coolant

WARNING
z
Because of bad operating conditions (high temperature and high load)
and dusty ambient circumstances, oil easily deteriorates. Change oil
as soon as the oil deteriorates or is mixed with many impurities.
z
Add the specified volume of oil. Either too much or too little oil may
cause problems.
z
Clean and replace the relative filters when changing oil.
2.1.1 Fuel
z
The fuel pump is a precision instrument. If the fuel mixes with water or dirt, the fuel pump
will not work normally.
z
Never
let impurities enter when changing and adding fuel.
z
Strictly choose the fuel brand according to this manual.
z
The fuel may be frozen at low temperatures (particularly temperatures lower than -15 ). So

it is necessary to change the kind of fuel according to the ambient temperature.
z
Always
fill the fuel tank full after operating to prevent the water, which is condensed by the
moisture in the air, from entering the fuel tank.
z
If the engine fails to suck fuel or the filters have been just replaced, drain out the air in the
circuit.
2.1.2 Coolant
z
In order to avoid causing scale which can make the radiator stop or influence the
performance of dispelling the heat, please always use glycol type engine antifreeze as
coolant about Shandong Lingong stated in whole year. Strictly forbid to use water as to
coolant.
z
If the engine overheats, add coolant until the engine cools down completely.
z
Add coolant to specified level. If the level is too low, it will cause the overheating of the
engine system and the corrosion of the cooling system.
z
Antifreeze is flammable. Keep fire away when adding the antifreeze.
z
Do not use 100% antifreeze as coolant.
