The EtherCAT variables in MULTIPROG
It is recommended to assign the tECIO task to the EtherCAT variables of the
I/O Configuration in MULTIPROG (Figure 89)
If the option <Insert EtherCAT configuration in the PLC-Project > is selected,
the variables will be included in the project (Figure 89).
The group ECIO_Variables is reserved by the EtherCAT® Add-On. All
existing variables in this group will be overwritten from the Add-On. You
should not insert any own variables in this group and also not carry out
various modifications.

Renaming EtherCAT variables
Important!
The renaming of the EtherCAT variables must be carried out with EC-
Engineer, not with MULTIPROG.
If you wish to assign own names for the EtherCAT variables, it is to proceed
as follows. Start the <EtherCAT configuration without changing the
Topology>
