Possible reason
Solution
Motor does not run; however audible beeps when switching
Speed controller’s throttle function not calibrated.
Calibrate speed controller throttle function
on, i.e. the controller attempts to detect the cell-count automatically.
Motor does not run, no audible beeps when switched on.
Intermittent / loose connection between battery and speed controller.
Clean / replace plug and socket.
Servos do not function.
No power.
Fit a fully charged battery.
Faulty soldering (dry joints).
Re-solder dry joints.
Reversed polarity battery lead.
Check and correct lead.
Reversed polarity connection between speed controller and receiver (throttle lead). Check speed controller lead, correct contacts if necessary.
Speed controller fault.
Replace controller
Motor does not run, no audible beeps when switched on. BUT: servos function.
Intermittent / loose connection between battery and speed controller.
Clean / replace plug and socket.
Burned out motor windings
Replace motor.
Faulty soldering (dry joints).
Re-solder dry joints.

by brief pause (** ** ** **).
When the controller is switched on the motor does not run.
The speed controller has not detected a normal throttle signal from the receiver.
Check whether the speed controller lead is connected to the receiver throttle

channel. Check transmitter and receiver to determine whether a throttle signal
is
actually present (connect servo o check throttle channel).
When the controller is switched on the motor does not run. Constant beeps (****).
Throttle stick not at bottom end-point when the transmitter was switched on.
Move the throttle stick to the “fully back” position.

mode.
Note: Futaba system - must be set to “Reverse”.
Motor runs in wrong direction.
Reversed cables between speed controller and motor.

motor, or select “Motor direction reverse” function (controller’s programming
mode); alternatively change the default parameters.
No throttle signal.
Check whether RC system is working properly.
Check position of controller and receiver. Check position of receiver aerial and
controller lead; there must be adequate space between these units in order to
avoid interference. Fit ferrite ring in speed controller’s throttle lead.
Battery voltage fallen to ‘low voltage threshold’.
Land model immediately, replace battery.
Possible defective cable connection.
Check cables for possible damage.
Motor starts unexpectedly; controller overheats.
Possible interference at the flying field.
Normal operation of the speed controller can be affected by interference at the
site. Switch speed controller on again, andcheck if it works properly. If the
problem cannot be solved, check the speedcontroller at a different flying site.
Inadequate cooling.
Re-position controller to ensure sufficient cooling.
Servos drawing too muchcurrent; controller overloaded.
Fit smaller servos whichdo not overload the speedcontroller. The maximum
BEC current must not exceed the value stated in the Specification.
Motor or propeller too large.
Fit a smaller motor or a smaller propeller.
