5.6.3

Setup a Connection

To create a connection, you need to select in the source region a signal to be transmitted through the
MediorNet network. First you select the respective Frame by a left-click. Selections are indicated by green
letters. In the column right of the Frame you need to select the Card also by a left-click and the present
Channels of this Card are displayed in a new column. Again you need to define a single Channel, which
contains the signal to be transmitted.
If you select for instance a Video source, another column with AES mono Audio SubChannels are displayed.
If you select for instance an AES3 Artist Channel on the MN-XSS Card, the A- and B- SubChannels of this AES
signal are displayed. By selecting a MADI source, the user is able to access all 64 SubChannels. Every
SubChannel can be routed individually.

In the destination region the user can define the signal target. The procedure of selecting is the same as
selecting the source signal.

Connect-Button

By pressing the Button

with the mouse or CTRL-C on the keyboard, a connection is established and

activated from the source Channel to the destination Channel. The connection is indicated by the icon
on the right side of the Channel name in the source and destination region, as well as in the CONNECTION-
window.

The Connect button is only enabled if source and destination are compatible. Otherwise the button is
disabled and it isn't possible to create a connection.

If the checkbox “Display connected source channels” is enabled and an output Channel is
involved in a connection, the name of the input Channel is displayed on the output Channel.
