MediorNet User Manual 2.00.0

5 MediorWorks

Access, configuration and maintenance of the MediorNet system is handled by the Software MediorWorks
based on Java. MediorWorks is independent of the PCs operating system. This means PCs with different
operating systems can be used.

This Software was developed to offer the user easy and quick access to the system with a graphical interface.
MediorWorks is intuitive to operate because it is similar to other GUI applications.

Multiuser
It is possible to attach one or more PCs simultaneously to the MediorNet system, to configure and maintain
the system. The PC or a Network / Router can be connected directly to the Config-Port of the MediorNet
Frame. All PCs are able to maintain and to configure the MediorNet Frames at the same time.

The configuration of the system is stored on a SD-Memory card in the MN-XSS of a Modular Frame and in the
flash memory in the MN-Compact. The configuration can be stored on the configuration PC, too. This is
useful for a quick configuration on other Frames.

5.1

What is required?

MediorWorks is a Java application. So it doesn’t require a special operating system

Requirements for establishing a connection to the MediorNet system:

PC Workstation

Operating System

Windows XP (SP 3)

Windows Vista (SP 2)

Windows 7 (SP 1)

Windows 8 and 8.1

Linux (tested on Ubuntu, Fedora and CentOS distributions)

Mac OS X (= 10.8)

Memory

Depending on the size of your MediorNet system at least
768MB free RAM are required.

Oracle Java SE

Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 7 Update 51 or higher

Browser

unused LAN-Port 100Base-T

Ethernet Patch-cable (1:1)

The communication between the MediorNet Frames and the MediorWorks Software is based on IP.

At least one MediorNet Frame must exist to configure the system.
An offline configuration is not possible in MediorWorks.
