Cleaning

Warning: All solvents: Flammable; Keep away from uncovered lights. Use solvents only
in a well ventilated atmosphere. Do not splash into eyes and avoid breathing in
the vapors. Use a barrier cream on hands and wash them after using solvents.
Liferafts
1. Wash the liferaft with a solution of mild liquid soap (Item 1) and water. After washing, rinse with
clean water and dry with a clean cloth (Item 2).
2. Wipe clean the inflation equipment with a clean cloth (Item 2).
Rigid Container
1. Clean the container with a mild household cleaner (Item 3).
Anti-mold treatment: The following anti-mold treatment shall be applied to all containers during the
normal overhaul period of the liferaft, and on all containers that have been exposed to dampness for
prolonged periods of storage.
1. Scrub clean the inside of the container with a solution of mild liquid soap (Item 1) and water.
2. Mix a weak solution of household Bleach (Item 4) at 25 parts of water to 1 part Bleach .
3. Using a sponge, apply the solution evenly over the entire inner surface of the container.
4. Allow the surface of the container to dry before packing the liferaft into the container.
Caution: Avoid excess amount or puddles of cleaning solutions and solvents on the
liferaft, as this will cause softening and swelling of the coating and could
induce delamination.
Valise
Clean the valise with a mild household cleaner (Item 3).
