The device begins the clearing process, and a message displays to insert a clean sample trap.
19. Wearing clean cotton gloves, remove a sample trap from the package, or use an existing clean sample
trap that has not exceeded its sampling events.
20. If you obtained a sample trap from the package, close the cover immediately to avoid contamination.
21. Insert the sample trap into the desorber, and press Trig, the green button on the navigation pad, or the
green button on the device handle.
The
No Alarm-Ready message displays.
22. Remove the sample trap.
23. Once the calibration is complete, Rapiscan Systems recommends that you verify the successful
calibration. (
see "Verify - Particle Mode" on the next page)
NOTE: If the peak was outside the white window, you must first Set Default Cal Factors before you can
verify the successful calibration. ( see "Set Default Cal Factors" below ) This shifts the white win-
dow to be in the range of the newly selected peak.
Single Peak Calibrate - Particle Mode
The single peak calibration routine follows the same principle as the dual peak calibration, except only one screen
is shown for substance selection. The list contains all the explosives and narcotics in the substance file. You
select only one substance (
Neg-CAL or Pos-CAL) to calibrate on, and then select its appropriate peak. Once the
calibration is complete, Rapiscan Systems recommends you verify the successful calibration. For particle mode
verification,
( see "Verify - Particle Mode" on the next page) . For vapor mode verification, ( see "Verify - Vapor
Mode" on page 40) .
Set Default Cal Factors
If you select peaks outside of the white window during the manual calibration routine, you must Set Default Cal
Factors. This function moves the white window to the new peak location, enabling the automatic calibration
routine to function properly.
1. Select Menu > Advanced Menu > Page 2.
2. Press Set Default Cal Factors.
A message verifying you want to set the default calibration factors displays.
3. Press Yes.
The current and new values display.
4. Press Yes.
