Introduction to Maintenance

This chapter contains instructions for proper maintenance of the MobileTrace

. Detailed procedures explain how

to perform shift, weekly, monthly, and as-needed maintenance. For tracking purposes, maintenance performed
should be logged:

•

Using the Rapiscan Systems-provided maintenance logs.

(

see "Maintenance Logs" on page 130)

•

By adding a maintenance log to the history.

(

see "Add Maintenance Log" on page 61)

NOTE:

Maintenance frequency may require adjustment based on environmental and operational con-
ditions.

NOTE:

If the status bar displays a warning other than the

Calibration Warning

, resolve the warning before

you perform routine maintenance.

You may need the following tools not provided by Rapiscan Systems:

•

Flathead screwdriver

•

Phillips head screwdriver

•

Needle nose pliers

Shift Maintenance

To keep the device operating at peak performance, the procedures listed in this section should be performed at
the beginning of every shift.

NOTE:

Rapiscan Systems defines a shift as every 8 hours.

CAUTION:

When maintaining the device, you must wear clean cotton gloves and use only Rapiscan
Systems-supplied consumables, parts, and supplies.

NOTE:

The ability to perform some maintenance procedures may depend upon the privilege levels
assigned.

Clean the Touchscreen

1. Select Menu > Logoff.

2. Using the Rapiscan Systems supplied LCD screen cleaning cloth, wipe down the touchscreen.

WARNING:

Do not use alcohol swabs to wipe the touchscreen.
