Make all entries in your device’s maintenance log as directed by your administrator.
Monthly Maintenance
To keep the device operating at peak performance, the procedures listed in this section should be performed
monthly in the step-by-step order listed. Also, you must verify weekly maintenance has been performed.
CAUTION:
When maintaining the device, you must wear clean cotton gloves and use only Rapiscan
Systems-supplied consumables, parts, and supplies.
NOTE:
The ability to perform some maintenance procedures may depend upon the privilege levels
assigned.
Power Down the Device

Check the Dopant Levels
The device uses two dopant chemicals to constantly treat the air circulating through the device. These chemicals
are located inside the dopant chamber on the rear panel. The chemicals used are ammonium carbamate
(positive ion) and dichloromethane (negative ion). The levels of these chemicals should be checked every month
to ensure there is solid/fluid remaining.

The internal calibrant tube inside the dopant chamber contains small white crystals and is important for internal
calibration when the device is in vapor mode. Typically, you should not need to replace the internal calibrant tube
unless it has been damaged, lost, or contaminated.
1. Unscrew the dopant chamber end cap.
