The desktop application connects to the device, deletes the files from the device, and displays the
directory path into which the files were copied. For example:
C:\Documents and Settings\Webcast User\Desktop\MT Desktop Software\Alarms\

Upgrade Software from the Device Application

Before you can upgrade the ITMS™ software, verify the device has version 1.51 or higher installed. For software
versions older than 1.51, contact Rapiscan Systems Technical Support.

CAUTION:

Do not interrupt the upgrade process.

1. Verify the computer is connected to the device.

see "Connecting to the Device" on page 136)

2. Insert the software upgrade CD into the computer.

3. Verify the executable file(s) (

.exe) and supporting library files (.dll) are within a folder labeled

RapiscanSystems on the root directory of the CD.

4. Log on to the ITMS™ software.

5. Record any changes made to the Rapiscan Systems default substance library.

Once the upgrade is complete, the default substance configuration for that version of ITMS™ software in
restored. Therefore, you must record any changes made to the substance library.

a. Press <Ctrl+D> to display any custom changes made to the Rapiscan Systems default substance

library.

b. Record the custom changes made to your substance configuration.

c. Press Close.

d. Press No to restoring the defaults.

6. On the computer, log on to the desktop application software.

7. Select Menu > Upgrade the Device Application.

A message displays and describes the sequence of events that take place to upgrade the software on a
device.

8. Press Yes.

9. Navigate to the folder where the new device software is located.

10. Select

itmsce.exe.

11. Press Open.

12. Enter the IP address of the device.
