1.
Remove the four cap screws (items 31
and 69) from the cable/motor assembly
(item 30B) with a 9/64-inch hex wrench.
2.
Pull cable assembly and motor assem-
bly from the rear of the barrel assembly.
3.
If both cable and motor assembly are
being replaced go to step 6. If only the
cable assembly is being replaced con-
tinue.
4.
Remove motor assembly and ON/OFF
switch assembly (see "Motor Replace-
ment" in the "Maintenance" section) and
install on new cable assembly.
5.
Inspect gasket (item 15) for damage.
Replace if required.
6.
Check the gun end of cable assembly to
ensure that spring (item 33) is attached
to the cable. Apply a generous coating
of dielectric grease to the exposed end
of the high voltage cable.

The screws used to secure the cable
assembly to the barrel assembly MUST be
tightened alternately. Failure to do so may
bind the motor shaft causing slow rotation,
early motor wear and/or failure.

9.
Alternately tighten screws (items 31 and
69) until snug. If motor shaft begins to
slow (audible pitch changes), loosen
screws slightly to relieve binding. DO
NOT overtighten screws so that gasket
(item 15) is squeezed outward beyond
the outer dimension of the barrel.
Overtightening the vice to hold the gun
assembly could damage the plastic barrel
assembly.
