Problems Using the L2W-323 Gateway
The following section describes problems you may encounter when using the L2W-323
Gateway and suggests possible solutions.
The procedures concerning gatekeepers in this section relate to the internal RADVision
Gatekeeper and may be different for other gatekeepers.
Making Calls
You are unable to make LAN-to-LAN calls
Make sure that the endpoints are registered with the Gatekeeper and that the destination
endpoint did not disconnect from the network in a disorderly manner after registration.

To check that both the originating and destination endpoints are registered with
the Gatekeeper
1. Run the OnLAN Configure 323 configuration software.
2. Open the Zone Definition Table in the Gatekeeper Setup. Check that both endpoints
appear in the table and their status is “online.”
3. If one or both of them are not online, check that the same default Gatekeeper is defined
for both endpoints and that the endpoints are not using aliases or phone numbers in use
by other endpoints.
4. Close the Zone Definition Table and re-register the endpoints with the Gatekeeper.
This procedure depends on the type of endpoint.
5. Re-open the Zone Definition Table. If both endpoints appear in the table and are
online, try making the call. If you are still unable to reach the requested endpoint, this
may indicate that the destination endpoint disconnected from the network in a
disorderly manner after it registered with the Gatekeeper. When this happens, the
disconnected endpoint continues to appear in the Gatekeeper Zone Definition Table.
Note: Some endpoints such as Microsoft NetMeeting version 2.x do not support the RAS
protocol and cannot register dynamically with the Gatekeeper. In this case you have
to predefine the endpoint in the Gatekeeper Zone Definition table and define it as
“Online Always.”
