pressing the motor button, and then empty
the container and replace in position.
Note the position of a bolt (for example) on
the metering shaft clutch, and then keep the
motor button depressed until the metering
wheel has made 10 revolutions.
Weigh the seed from
both
metering wheels
(as required), and divide by 10. This is the
correct value.
For small seed types, it is a good idea to
include a ‘1’ or ‘2’ in the name, depending
on whether 1 or 2 small seed wheels were
used for each measuring unit.
Enter the determined numerical value in the
following way:
Press the key for the parameter screen (
see
3.2.1
), select option
1 OPERATOR SETUP
by pressing
<ENTER>
(the marker key is
already in the correct position when the
screen is displayed).
Now select option
4 PRODUCT
SELECTION
. Select the corresponding seed
type (
fig. 41
) and move the marker arrow
to the line
‘kg/rev’
.
Now enter the measured value using
the numerical key pad, and confirm with
<ENTER>
. When
<ESC>
is pressed, the
parameter menu is again displayed.
It is
not
possible to modify the TGW here.
This can only be done by calling up the
calibration menu, as described in 3.2.3.
This is however only necessary if the seed
rate is measured in K/m2.
b) Compensation of deviation in seed
rates
Because of variations in seed properties,
particularly segregation while in motion,
variations in rate can occur when working
over large areas, in spite of exact calibration
and a well maintained seed library. In this
case, the Artemis II
software offers the user
a unique way to compensate this error.
To use this, the following limit parameters
must
be set as shown:
(a) the machine must sow in kg/ha. If it is
working in K/m2, it must be changed over
(see 4.1.3).
(b) error compensation can be carried
out individually for each seed type in the
library. Values for the seed type must be
determined and entered as described in
4.1.4.
(c) when the measurement area is being
sown as required, do not use tramlines or
pre-start.
