INTRODUCTION
The Quantum LTO drives are designed for computer environments requiring high
performance, ultra-high capacity data storage. The drives are available in 5.25-inch
internal configurations or as an external subsystem.
Quantum LTO drives incorporate an embedded controller for either the SCSI
Parallel Interface (SPI), the Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) interface, or the Fibre
Channel Protocol for SCSI (FCP) interface. The parallel SCSI drives provide
synchronous or asynchronous SCSI with high speed burst transfers of up to 160
megabytes/second. The SAS interface provides burst data transfer rates of 300
megabytes/second. Drives with Fibre Channel connections provide a burst transfer
rate of up to 425 megabytes/second. The internal drives are tailored for easy
installation in today's computers and the full-featured embedded controller facilitates
easy integration into a variety of systems.

Interface
•
LTO4 Half High with SAS Interface
Each model has some unique characteristics. Within this manual they are often
noted as to what interface they apply to. The following is a brief list of some of the
differences that will be found.
