The GoVault device server is connected to the system by an Intel or
an Intel-compliant motherboard with either an Intel or an Intel-
compliant ICH5, ICH6, or ICH7 I/O Controller Hub.
To make sure that your system uses the high-speed DMA mode for data
transfer operations:

First, use the procedure in
Determining Your Motherboard
Configuration
to see if it uses an ICH5, ICH6, or ICH7 I/O Controller
Hub.

Then, if it does, use the procedure in
Changing the Transfer Mode
on
page 69 to configure high-speed DMA mode for your GoVault data
transfer operations.
Determining Your Motherboard Configuration
To find out if the motherboard in your workstation or server system uses
an Intel or Intel-compliant ICH5, ICH6, or ICH7 I/O Controller Hub:

Open a
Device Manager
window.

On the
View
menu, click
Devices by connection
(see
figure 39
) to
display your system devices by connection type.
