The scanning of the incoming audio frames is accomplished an 8 bit counter (7bits plus sign),
which is driven from the 256 step word clock. The five outputs of this counter with the highest
values (16*FS to 1*FS) regulate a two channel reception buffer. This counter is loaded with the
desired offset value at the start of the SDIF-2 frame, and then runs through all 256 counter readings
without reference to an external source. The scale runs straight from +127 to –128 for maximum
ease of use.

The first digit in the display gives the position of the delay lines, the second digit the deviation
relative to a word clock period in %.

Turning the pulsar (

) shifts the incoming audio frame by up to

-128 -50.0%

or

+127 +49.6%

relative to the outgoing audio frame. To make the process of adjustment easier,

the scale starts again at the beginning after the maximum value has been reached, i.e, after

+127

+49.6%

it begins again with
