I

COMMANDER 1220

The COMMANDER provides the operating elements and display required to operate any
QUANTEC flat panel device. It does not need a power supply, as it is powered from the serial port.

Its operating elements include a rotating pulsar with a shaft encoder, here termed »pulsar«, which
is typically used to move horizontally within a menu, or modify values on a scale.

Hitting the ENT (Enter) key takes the user into the next menu level or confirms a newly selected
value. Hitting the XIT (Exit) key takes the user one step up (back) in the menu hierarchy, or
discards a modification. To operate TOG (Toggle), one of the keys is held depressed as the other is
hit. Toggle is only used if a connected device requests that function. The COMMANDER menu
itself does not use it.

If the communication with a controlled device is disconnected by key operation (see main section:
»Disconnect communication«), a confirmation is shown for 2 seconds
