If you want the EZ1 Advanced XL to generate a report file, you will be asked to enter
additional data, such as user ID, bar code of the kit, and bar code of the samples.

Open the EZ1 Advanced XL door, and set up the worktable according to the messages shown
in the display.
For details, refer to the handbook supplied with the EZ1 kit you are using.
4.
Close the EZ1 Advanced XL door.
The protocol run cannot start until the door is closed.

Press
START
to start the protocol run.

After the run is finished, remove the elution tubes, which contain the purified nucleic acid
samples. Remove sample-preparation waste, and discard according to your local safety
regulations.
7.
The EZ1 Advanced XL will automatically generate a report file, if requested during setup, and
send it either to the PC or the printer.

At the end of the protocol run, you may optionally choose to perform a UV decontamination
run. For details, refer to the handbook supplied with the EZ1 Kit you are using.

Perform regular maintenance after each run as described in Section 6.1, page 78.

Stopping a protocol run
While the protocol run is in the phase where data is being read (e.g., sample tube bar code
information), you can stop the protocol run by following the instructions below.

. The following screen appears.

again to cancel the protocol, or press
START
to continue the protocol.
While the protocol run is in the phase where the instrument is actively processing samples, you can
cancel the protocol run by following the instructions below.

STOP: Yes, abort
Note that the protocol has not stopped yet.
