EZ1 Advanced XL User Manual 11/2017

The data communication between the reader and the EZ1 Advanced XL is RS-232. This must first
be recognized by the bar code reader. To configure the bar code reader for RS-232, scan the
configuration bar code on the plastic bag of the RS-232 data cable or scan the configuration bar
code shown below.

Check if the bar code reader is correctly connected and working properly (Section 5.9.3, page 66).

4.4

Installing the PC software

The EZ1 Advanced software, EZ1 Advanced Communicator, needs to be installed on the PC. The
software is needed to receive report files from EZ1 Advanced XL and to store data on the PC hard
disk.

Important

: To install the software, you must have administrator rights. Otherwise, error messages

will appear and the software will not be installed.
