SHIMANO NEXUS INTER 8
SETTING THE GEAR SHIFT
1. Use the shifting lever to put in the 4th gear.
2. Check that the yellow marking lines on the holder and the
shifting wheel are aligned with each other

(fig. BP).
3. Turn the cable setting screw of the shifting lever

(fig. BI),
to align the yellow marking lines with each other.
4. Then return the shifting handle from the 4th to the 1st gear
and back to the 4th and check that the yellow marking lines
are still aligned with each other.
REMOVING THE REAR WHEEL
1. Use the shifting lever to put in the 1st gear.
2. Disconnect the brake cable

(fig. BM) from its guide in or -
der to take out the wheel more easily later.*
3. Release the brake cable

(fig. BM) from its guide in order
to take out the wheel out of the drop-out more easily later.
4. Hold the rubber cover

and pull the cable sleeve holder

from the cable sleeve holder part
1
of the shifting unit (fig.
BK).
5. Then remove the cable attached to the rubber bellows

from the slot of the holder

, but without damaging the rub-
ber bellows (fig. BK).
6. Remove the cable attachment screw

from the shifting
wheel

(fig. BL).
7. Release the axle nuts on both sides of the rear wheel with a
15 mm wrench.
8. Remove the axle nuts and the safety discs.
9. Now pull out the rear wheel from the drop-out.
