Enable IAPP on WLAN
Activates IAPP broadcasts and the receipt of IAPP messages on the access point.
Enable IAPP client update on WLAN
Activates a special extension in the IAPP protocol. Information from the 802.11 beacon is
also sent via Ethernet at 1 second intervals as an IAPP broadcast. Phoenix Contact clients
can receive this information and thus determine the status and the current channel of all
available access points, even if they cannot yet be reached wirelessly. This information is
required primarily for fast roaming, in order to automatically manage the channel resolution
in the 5 GHz band. This option is only useful when fast roaming is used.
Roaming WLAN 1/2
Roaming is always used if a client moves over a large area, which is not covered by just one
access point. Compared to radio link or point-to-point connections, which usually have a
flexible channel selection, for roaming setups the clients must be able to find the various
access points on different channels. The settings on this page can be used to ensure a
seamless and optimized transition from one network to the next.

The IAPP protocol was not fully defined by the IEEE as 802.11f and was later withdrawn.
IAPP is therefore not a standardized protocol.
