Saving to the SIM card

The SIM card can be used to easily replace a faulty device. Simply insert the SIM card from

the faulty device into the replacement device. Only SIM cards from Phoenix Contact should

be used. They can be ordered as accessories (FL WLAN SIM, Order No. 2692539).

If no SIM card is inserted, the message "No SIM card present" is displayed.

To save the settings to the SIM card, activate the "Also save settings to SIM card" checkbox

and then click "Save".

Replacing a faulty device

Insert the SIM card in the device when it is switched off.

Switch on the device.

The settings from the SIM card are loaded during the boot process and a message is

generated in the event log.

If a configuration is saved to a SIM card from a device with the latest firmware and the SIM

card is then inserted in a device with older firmware, all new parameters for the new

firmware are deleted automatically because they are not available on the old firmware.

This also applies to the data on the SIM card itself.

The configuration on a SIM card cannot be exchanged between clients and access

points. If a SIM card has been written by an access point, a client cannot read this

configuration and vice versa.

The card can be overwritten at any time.

WLAN devices with older hardware versions cannot use SIM cards even though they

have a SIM card slot, so the SIM options are not displayed in WBM.
